The Future of Writing?

Ever wished notes and sketches you make on paper could some how easily be converted to a digital file on your computer. With the invention of the Logitech io2 Digital Writing System you can do just that. The system basically comprises a normal biro pen, fitted with a tiny camera, which docks into a small unit that plugs through USB into your PC. By drawing and writing on to special paper, your document is transferred straight to your PC when you dock your pen and what’s more, if you add to that piece of paper later, the file on the computer is also updated.

By combining the system with clever software you can also ‘teach’ the system your handwriting and then your notes can be converted into editable documents in programs such as Microsoft word. Other clever innovations mean that with the right paper, you can make your notes, write on a persons email address and when the pen is docked, the document will be sent via email immediately.

The system works by unique patterns of small dots in the paper being read by the camera built into the pen. A variety of paper formats enables you to integrate your notes with e-mail, to-do lists, calendar entries, and other files in programs such as Microsoft Outlook, as well as Post-it pads for quick notes. The variety of papers is well priced, and the pen is able to store up to 40 pages at a time from a pad before being docked.

Useful for taking notes in meetings and places where access to a PC is not feasible or for people who just prefer to make notes by hand and are tired of losing them, the io2 pen is the ideal solution.
