About us

We understand technical competence and great service are important when selecting an IT provider. However, we appreciate that a successful partnership, needs trust, alignment, and a good understanding of who we really are.

Our History

1994

Gregory Wildman Limited was incorporated in 1994 by David Lewsley FCA, initially offering Sage software solutions to businesses looking for a provider that had business and finance expertise as well as IT skills. Through successful implementation, the business began to grow and in 2001, Rob Hammond (who at the time was running Conquest Computers) joined forces with David to create what we now know as Conquest Wildman.

Rob and David noticed quickly that customers were now asking for more than assistance with their accountancy software and really needed some help with not just installing the new hardware they were purchasing but fixing it when things didn’t quite go to plan.

From there, Conquest gained the reputation of a friendly IT support provider and customers began referring other businesses from different verticals to use our services.

2005

In 2005, Rob had realised that we were now being asked to remove lots of old IT equipment customers no longer wanted as part of our support. Much of this hardware still worked but was no longer quite as fast as that which was on offer at the time.

Rob and his family had always been very charitable, and he believed that with some upgrades and time, the old equipment could be donated and make an impact to those who were not as fortunate as us to have this readily available.

Later in 2005 and with the support from customers and the team at Conquest, the first delivery of Conquest Wildman machines were delivered to a school in Bosnia.

The computers would be used to allow children to better their education and give them the chance for a more modern way of learning.

These trips continued for many years and made a real impact to the education of many children in Bosnia. As time continued, Rob became involved with a new breadfruit project in Ghana with his brothers, which aimed to provide a more consistent source of food for local people.

Whilst carrying out this charity work, Conquest Wildman continued to grow, beginning to work in partnership with known names such as the NHS & British Gas.

2014

In 2014, Charles Mabbott joined the business, initially supporting key customers alongside the technical team.

Rob and Charles began to work together more frequently on projects and ways to develop Conquest Wildman’s product and service offerings.

2017

In 2017, Charles relocated to London and setup his own IT services company but remained working closely with the team at Conquest.

2022

In 2022, Rob became involved in another large charitable project to provide supplies and aid to those in Ukraine managing to participate in several trips to areas of conflict. Some notable donations included a Fire Engine, an Ambulance, a Subaru, and several loads of medical and comfort supplies.

Rob and the charitable team managed to supply tens of thousands of pounds worth of assistance to those who needed it most.

In November 2022, Rob sadly passed away.

Charles Mabbott was approached by the team at Conquest to carry on the Conquest Wildman legacy.

As we continue to mature and grow as a business, our charitable roots and passion for providing friendly services will always be key to who we are.

2023

In loving memory of our friend and colleague Rob, in 2023 the team agreed to setup “Robs Fund” where a portion of profits every year will be donated to charities selected by our loyal and great team at Conquest Wildman.
